Andy Nelson
Managing Attorney
Andy represents clients in business, commercial, and intellectual property matters. His practice emphasizes the development of effective strategies for trademark and copyright protection, enforcement, licensing, and dispute resolution (including practice before the USPTO and TTAB). Over his career, Andy has helped businesses in a wide variety of industries, including technology, food and beverage, AFA (apparel-footwear-accessories), manufacturing, and services. A veteran of the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne Division, Andy especially enjoys working with businesses operated by those affiliated with the military community. Andy is admitted to practice in California state and federal courts. He is also admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. Andy received his law degree from the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law and his undergraduate degree from the University of Washington.
Kelly Pfeiffer
Senior Counsel
Kelly exclusively practices Intellectual Property Law, concentrating on trademark litigation, brand counseling, trademark prosecution, and brand maintenance for clients with domestic and international portfolios. Kelly has significant experience in managing matters before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). She has prosecuted countless trademark applications for brands in a wide variety of goods and services, and well as successfully litigated numerous oppositions and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB). A Southern California native, Kelly earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California in 1999 through the Annenberg School of Communication, also earning minors in Journalism and Anthropology. Kelly received her J.D. degree from the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law with a concentration in Intellectual Property, then went on to earn an LLM degree in Intellectual Property from Santa Clara University School of Law. Kelly is admitted to practice in California, the Ninth and Federal Circuit Courts of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of the United States. Kelly uses her expertise in this area by helping clients establish, protect and preserve their trademark rights both in the US and abroad.
